Hi
My name is Lynn Elkington.
I started dancing at the age of 6, when my mum took me to the local Ballet Class, I very quickly fell in love with dance and soon enrolled in Tap, Modern, Jazz, followed very quickly by Latin American, Ballroom and Disco. Dance became my life. I started teaching in my early teens, until at 19, I was spotted by a local dance company and was offered a position in a dance group, quickly becoming Principle Dancer, dancing professionally. We danced our way around the world appearing on the tv, until I was 28, when I was forced, through injury, to retire. Having hung my dance shoes up, I became a booker for an entertainment agency and artist management.
In 1999 I met my Mr Right and was married less than 2 years later. In 2003 I was blessed with a little boy and finally, truly felt whole as a person.
My son started school in 2008, which was when I decided to start looking for a new career..... but what My search ended when I stumbled across SlimDance!!! Hooray! A perfect venture to get my teeth into, doing all my favourite things! Lots of contact with people, helping them to see the benefits and enjoyment that can only be found in Dance. Since having my little boy, I still felt "fluffy" around the tummy!.... But not any more! Since I started teaching beginners salsa solo latin dance classes in and around Hinckley and Nuneaton area of South Leicestershire and Warwickshire, my legs are oiled, my energy levels are rising and my body, arms and legs are already looking fitter and feeling firmer!!!! I am so excited at what the future brings and look forward to welcoming anyone wanting to join me having fun, getting fit and learning a new skill..... Dance!

 "We have been going to SlimDance/Latin Solo classes since they started in our area and absolutely love it. Our Instructor, Lynn, is the best. She chooses great music (modern and traditional) and makes keeping fit fun – we can never believe it when the class is over. All of us enjoy SlimDance/Latin Solo so much that we have completed the Bronze, Silver and Gold classes and taken up the option of a Dance Pass so we can join as many classes as we can fit into our week!"

And on top of that I have met some truly lovely people. From no social life to a very social & dancey life with slimdance all in a year!!! Something i really didnt expect when i started. | Hi my name is Laura. I came along with my friend to the Latin Solo course first of all and we enjoyed it so much that we told everyone. Now we`ve done Bronze, Silver and Gold in Latin Solo and we can`t wait to start the SlimDance course. I don't think I`ll ever go to the gym again and never realized getting fit would be so much fun! Love it! |

| Hi I`m Jenny. I really enjoy the social aspect of the SlimDance classes. I come with my friend but if I`d come on my own it would have been no problem. We`ve met some lovely ladies and made some great new friends. We now come to three classes a week and it`s great fun. |

| Hi I`m Teresa from Reading. A friend persuaded me to come to a Latin Solo class 10 weeks ago and I`m so glad she did. I didn`t think I needed to lose weight or get fitter but I now feel healthier and I`ve definitely caught the dance bug. I absolutely love it. The Instructor is really great, I don`t think I`ll ever win a medal but it`s the most fun I`ve had in years! |

| Hi my name is Erin. I come to SlimDance with 2 of my friends from work and it`s really good fun. We have such a laugh every week. The instructor is fantastic and such a great teacher we really do feel like we are learning how to dance. We`re nearly into the Freestyle course and it`s just getting better every week |

| Hi my name is Sally and I`ve been coming to my Latin Solo class for 13 weeks. I`ve lost 19lbs and I`m absolutely loving it! I find I really look forward to coming every week. Losing weight has never been so much fun! |

| Hi I`m Janice and I run the local Farm Shop. When we heard about the Latin Solo class starting in the village all the girls here wanted to go! We`ve been coming along ever since. We enjoy every second and it`s now the highlight of the week! |
